Today we had our first doctor's appointment at the new clinic, Parkhill. Despite the long wait (about 30 minutes) we had a great visit with the doctor. We met with Dr. Seale. She is a younger woman with 2 young kids. She seemed very understanding and knowledgeable at the same time.
While I was in there, we got to hear the baby's heart beat! It was beating so fast! She said it measured at about 156. At this range, you can't determine if it is a boy or girl. The doctor said the baby and I both seem very healthy at this point in time. There is nothing to be concerned about which is quite a blessing! After the appointment we went to get some of my blood drawn for some tests for the baby. The doctor suggested that we have these tests done, so we did. The tests test for downs and other disorders. The reason why they suggest these tests is so that they can provide the best care possible. They will call us if the tests cause any concern but not if they are normal. So far, no news is good news! :)
The next exciting thing is that our next appointment, Feb.12, we will have our first real sonogram. This is where we'll learn if Baby Mac is a boy or girl! The doctor also provides a DVD of our ultrasound so we'll have our first home video!
